Henri Swanson is a rising third-year law student at the Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, expecting to graduate in May 2026. At Northwestern Law, Henri’s legal studies are concentrated in Advanced Torts, Trial Advocacy, Federal Courts, Complex Civil Litigation, and White-Collar Investigations. Henri serves as Vice President of Firm Outreach for the Northwestern Plaintiffs’ Law Association.

At GGH, Henri works on a diverse array of legal matters, including mass torts, institutional sexual abuse, product liability, premises liability, medical malpractice, transportation accidents, and wrongful death cases. Henri’s responsibilities encompass analyzing and strategizing motions, legal research, drafting pleadings, managing fact and expert discovery, and supporting pre-suit resolution.

In 2024, Henri was selected for two highly competitive Summer Law Intern Programs with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.—the Commercial Litigation Branch and the Environmental Tort Litigation Section. Henri accepted with the Commercial Litigation Branch and was set to assist the DOJ in representing the United States in complex foreign and domestic litigation, often involving billions of dollars in monetary damages.

Henri’s work would have addressed critical national challenges, including combating the opioid epidemic, recovering fraudulently obtained COVID-19 and natural disaster relief funds, and pursuing federal healthcare fraud. Although a 2025 Presidential Executive Order implementing a federal civilian hiring freeze ultimately prevented his participation, Henri’s selection reflects his unwavering commitment to justice and the responsible stewardship of public resources.

In 2025, Henri will serve as a judicial extern for The Honorable Michael Y. Scudder in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.

Before starting law school, Henri worked as a litigation paralegal at several leading personal injury law firms. Henri gained extensive experience in complex mass tort and high-profile civil rights cases, including the Flint Water Crisis, the Willowbrook Ethylene Oxide Litigation, Ethiopian Airlines Flight 302, the Chemtool 2021 plant explosion, the Robb Elementary School mass shooting, the Highland Park mass shooting, and Tyre Nichols v. City of Memphis. These cases collectively resulted in over $1 billion in recoveries for clients. Henri’s direct work on these cases inspired him to go to law school to fight for a safer and healthier world.
