Ryan O’Connell is an Attorney at GGH Law, where he represents clients in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases arising from medical malpractice, product liability, transportation crashes, birth injuries, sexual abuse and assault, and workplace incidents. 

Ryan earned his Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law in May 2025 and passed the Illinois Bar Exam in July 2025. While completing his third year of law school, Ryan clerked at GGH, where he developed his litigation skills through hands-on involvement in complex injury cases. 

During his first two years of law school, Ryan worked as a consumer financial services and regulatory compliance paralegal at a prominent Chicago law firm. There, he assisted with federal civil investigative demands and state investigative subpoena responses across industries such as debt collection, auto finance, mortgage services, commercial sales, and renewable energy. He also contributed to Illinois Commerce Commission matters and played a key role in settlement negotiations. 

Prior to law school, Ryan spent two years as a personal injury paralegal at one of Illinois’ largest firms, providing litigation and trial support on over 200 active cases. His experience spanned state and federal courts and included matters involving sexual assault, medical malpractice, nursing home injury, toxic torts, pharmaceutical mass torts, product liability, and transportation accidents. Ryan played an active role in resolving numerous significant cases, many resulting in seven-figure settlements. 

Ryan earned his B.A. in Political Science and Economics from Indiana University Bloomington, where he also spent a summer clerking for a personal injury law firm. Additionally, he completed two finance internships at Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, gaining valuable insight into corporate operations and financial analysis.
